Following a number of requests from customers and automotive journalists alike, Volkswagen has launched a mid variant of the Vento diesel called the Vento Comfortline diesel. The new trim comes loaded with features like body coloured exterior door handles and ORVMs, integrated in-car entertainment systems, centre armrest for rear passengers, front and rear fog lights, height adjustable driver’s seat and electrically adjustable ORVMs, and some features like alloy wheels, ABS, airbags, central locking, etc that are offered in the Highline trim.

Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said, “Since the introduction of the Vento, we have received requests for the mid-level trimline and it is our pleasure to be able to provide the customers with their desired car.” Bridging the gap between the base and the top-end variant of about Rs. 1.40 lakh, the new Comfortline variant is expected to add more customers in the German car maker’s book.

The engine in the new variant remains the same 1.6 litre, 105PS motor -- a decent workhorse which delivers an overall efficiency figure of 22kmpl as per ZigWheels’ Roadtest.

The German car maker’s current line-up in India comprises the Polo, Jetta, Passat, Beetle, Toureg, and the Phaeton alongside the Vento.
