Fiat has launched a refreshed version of the Linea T-Jet with additional equipment such as automatic headlamps, an audio system with a remote, rain sensing wipers, ABS, EBD, auto on/off lamps and disc brakes all around that will be standard across all variants. The petrol-powered Fiat Linea is now available in three trim levels, namely, Active, Dynamic and Emotion.
Apart from the difference in equipment between the three variants, the Active and Dynamic variants are fitted with 15-inch steel wheels that give the car a ground clearance of 185mm while the top-of-the-line Emotion variant gets 16 inch alloy wheels that give it a ground clearance of 190mm.
The refreshed Fiat Linea is powered by the same 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 114PS of power and 207Nm of torque and returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.7kmpl. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Fiat will be offering the Linea T-Jet in five colour options, namely, Oceanic Blue, Tuscan White, New Pearl White, Hip Hop Black & Minimal Grey.
Speaking on the launch of the all new Linea 2013 T-Jet, Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director, Fiat Chrysler Operations India, said, “We are optimistic about our prospect for growth in the Indian car market, which is rapidly becoming one of the major markets in the world. With the launch of 2013 Linea T-Jet, an expanding dealer network and upcoming marketing initiatives, we will be in a strong position to capitalise on this growth. With the differences in the prices of petrol and diesel neutralising, we are witnessing a rise in the consumption of petrol cars once again. The 2013 Linea T-Jet which is available in three variants Active, Dynamic and Emotion, offers a perfect blend of sophisticated style, guaranteed performance, class leading comfort, outstanding ride and handling with unbeatable toughness. The 2013 Linea T-Jet is sure to capitalise in the C plus segment, which is one of the fastest growing segments in the Indian car market.”
Prices for the new Linea T-Jet range from Rs 7.60 lakh for the entry-level Linea T-Jet Emotion, to Rs 8.40 lakh for the middle-of-the-line-Linea T-Jet Dynamic and Rs 8.80 lakh for the top-of-the-line Linea T-Jet Emotion (all prices are indicative of ex-showroom Delhi). With the launch, prices of the Fiat Linea T-Jet Active have gone up by Rs 49,000 while the Linea T-Jet Emotion has become dearer by Rs 67,000. The new Fiat Linea T-Jet range will be available only across the eight exclusive Fiat showrooms across metros for the moment.
The Fiat Linea T-Jet has the distinction of being the only turbocharged petrol mid-size sedan in India and competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki SX-4, Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and the Honda City.
