The Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift has been with us for over a year now and is available with quite a few engine options. They include a base version petrol 2.0-litre petrol (E200), a 2.1-litre diesel (E250 CDi) and of course, the flagship 5.5-litre V8 petrol (E63 AMG) versions. Mercedes will now add a new engine option to the range making it even more comprehensive and exciting. The new Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTEC diesel will be launched on September 11.
The Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTEC diesel will feature a 3.0-litre V6, twin turbocharged engine with 266PS of peak power and a massive 620Nm of peak torque. This will power the E350 to a limited top speed of 250kmph and a 0-100kmph time of 6.6-seconds. The engine will be mated to the same 7-speed dual clutch ‘7G-Tronic Plus’ gearbox that features in the E200 and E250 CDi models.
We also expect the E350 to come with slightly sportier styling with references to the E63 AMG especially in its launch edition guise to go up against the likes of the BMW 530d and the Audi A6 3.0-litre diesel. The E350 BlueTEC diesel will also come fully loaded with Designo leather interiors, a panoramic roof and possibly even a rear entertainment package. We expect the Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTec diesel to cost about Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
