Kawasaki Versys1000 launched at Rs 12.9 lakh

The Kawasaki Versys1000 is the fourth 1,000cc offering from the Japanese bikemaker in India and the first from the Versys range of motorcycles in our two-wheeler market

Kawasaki India launched the Versys1000 in India. The 2015 Kawasaki Versys1000 has been priced at Rs.12,90,000(ex-showroom Pune) and will be brought in via the CBU route. The Kawasaki Versys1000 is the fourth 1,000cc offering from the Japanese brand in our two-wheeler market after the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Ninja 1000 and Z1000. The Kawasaki Versys1000 was kept on display at the Kawasaki dealership in Pune from November itself while booking had commenced. Booking price for the Kawasaki Versys1000 is Rs 5 lakh. 

The Kawasaki Versys1000 will be available in the Indian two-wheeler market only in the shade of black. The model launched is the recently face lifted 2015 version that made its debut at the 2014 INTERMOT motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany few months back. The styling of the Kawasaki Versys1000 is in sync with modern adventure motorcycles with a half fairing and large windscreen (adjustable). The 2015 Kawasaki Versys1000 is based on the Kawasaki Z1000 and Ninja 1000 which are already on sale in our country and it will be the first Versys offering in the Indian two-wheeler market after the Ninja and Z series.

Powering the Kawasaki Versys1000 is a 1,043cc liquid-cooled, inline-four motor churning out 121PS of max power and 102Nm of peak torque. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Kawasaki Versys1000 will be loaded with electronic goodies like, ABS, KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), and two levels of power delivery. Braking duties on the Kawasaki Versys1000 are taken care of by disc brakes at front and rear. The Kawasaki Versys1000 employs adjustable USD forks and monoshock setup at the rear which is also adjustable. The Kawasaki Versys1000 will be pitched against the likes of the Suzuki V-Strom and Triumph Tiger 800 XC in our two-wheeler market.
