Maruti-Suzuki A-Star Aktiv

Being Maruti Suzuki’s flagship export model, the A-star has churned up the sales charts. While being frugal, the A-star also has an engine that performs well. However, it was time the A-star’s aging design was perked up. Maruti has therefore resorted to new livery for the VXi and VXi AT versions, for an extra Rs 14,990. The A-star Aktiv will have a base price tag of Rs 4.22 lakh for the VXi trim version and Rs 4.73 lakh for the VXi AT, both ex-showroom Delhi.

The A-star Aktiv sports 14 new changes on the inside and outside. The exterior now sports side body graphics, off-set racing stripe, red rear-view door mirrors, spoiler and fog lamp cover and blackened film on the B-pillar. The interior gets new seat covers, steering wheel cover, floor mats, rear parcel tray, door sill guard and a keyless entry cum vehicle security system. According to Maruti, the new limited edition is ‘packed with features that will complement the young generation’s personality’. “A-star is one of the most vibrant products in our portfolio. Some of its high points such as contemporary styling, dynamic handling and ride quality, best-in-class turning radius, power, flat torque and superior performance have made the A-star a popular choice especially amidst the youth. The stylish modifications in the A-star Aktiv are in line with our plans to offer our young and energetic customers a sleeker, more stylish and feature packed A-star. We are confident that this special edition will bring pride to select owners who possess it,” said Manohar Bhat, Vice President, Marketing, Maruti Suzuki.

There are no changes in technical specifications and the A-Star Aktiv is powered by the existing 998cc, K10B motor that produces 67PS of power at 6,200rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency stays the same at 19kmpl.

I am using Wagon R 2012 model . It is OK for its money value. There is no leg pain while driving for all inside people.. The gear is some time giving trouble. The dealers and the service is very worst.

Lol. Suzuki just wants to push the sales and get rid of its stupid cars. So what does it do? Take those ordinary cars, put some cheap vinyl graphics, add a few features for namesake, give a trendy name like "sportz" or "limited addition" and relaunch it!We would have appreciated a change in design or engine specification but this is just old wine in a cheap looking bottle. Anybody can buy a second hand AStar and make it "Aktiv" anytime. Lol.For your kind information, this wont work any longer :D

I am using this car from past 1 year average is the problem with the car and rear seats boot space is very less. It should come in CNG OR LPG variants.

Better let the company stops manufacturing this model which has failed to enthuse customers.
