Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a special variant of its popular XUV500 called Mahindra XUV500 Sportz. The new limited edition vehicle is based on the top-of-the-line W8 variant of the Mahindra XUV500 and is priced at Rs 13.68 lakh (ex-showroom Pune), which is a premium of Rs 25,000 over the regular XUV500 W8 model. Just 1,000 units of this limited edition variant will be offered by the company.

The Mahindra XUV500 Sportz will feature exterior and interior enhancements like red-and-black body decals on the bonnet and on the doors of the SUV. Besides this, the fog lamps housing, roof rails and door handles also get red highlights. Other changes include sporty new alloy wheels with red inserts and ‘Sportz’ badge on the C-pillar. 

Mahindra XUV500 Sportz leather-fabric-seats

The interior will get new leather-and-fabric combination upholstery and 6-inch touch screen with rear camera. The new Mahindra XUV500 Sportz will also get the standard micro-hybrid technology, climate control, automatic wipers and headlamps, LED parking lights and electrical ORVM. However, there are no mechanical changes, as it sttill comes with a 330Nm mHawk engine mated with a 6-speed transmission.

Speaking to ZigWheels, Vivek Nair, CEO Automotive Division, M&M, “We have sold over 30,000 units of the Mahindra XUV500 in the financial year 2013-2014. With the new Mahindra XUV500 Sportz we believe that it will create a new benchmark in exclusivity to further enhance the XUV500’s appeal amongst customers.”
