Mahindra packs the limited edition Scorpio with features and minor cosmetic changes

Mahindra Special Edition Scorpio

Limited to 500 units, Mahindra has one again launched a special edition of its popular SUV Scorpio at Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The car will be made available in a pearl white paint scheme with chequered flag decals on the sides. The alloys remain the same but are now chrome plated instead of silver. While the exterior doesn’t really get any major changes to differentiate it from the standard model, the new car comes loaded with additional features. Changes in the interiors include high gloss wood finish centre console, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob and lever. The fabric seats give way to tan and beige European leather seats. The new limited edition Scorpio has also been fitted with a roof-mounted DVD player which is complimented by a 9-inch display. Things not only get fancy but also safer inside thanks to the dual front SRS airbags.

While there are some noticeable cosmetic changes, it’s still the same trusted Scorpio at heart that is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that is mated to a five-speed manual transmission churning out the power of 120 horses and 290Nm of torque.

The manufacturer had also introduced a limited edition model last year. It is clear that by launching the limited edition of the Scorpio is probably Mahindra’s way to continue to remain in the limelight before the launch of the facelifted model that is scheduled to be launched by the end of the year.
