The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is the first fully faired motorcycle to be launched by the Chakan based two-wheeler manufacturer. Powering the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be the same powerplant as found on the Pulsar 200NS. What sets apart the Pulsar RS200 motor is the fact that it will be fuel-injected unlike the carburetted motor as seen on the Pulsar 200NS. Fuel-injection should result in crisper throttle response and avoid cold starting problems alongwith hiking the power output marginally. Providing firepower to the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be a 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected powerplant producing 24.4 PS of power at 9,750rpm and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a six-speed gearbox. The above numbers and the full fairing body make the new Bajaj Pulsar RS200, the fastest production Bajaj motorcycle.  The frame, suspension and brakes on the Pulsar RS200 has been borrowed from the Pulsar 200NS as it is. The Pulsar RS200 will be the first motorcycle from Bajaj Auto’s stable to offer ABS as an optional extra.

In the looks department, the new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is pretty similar to the SS400 that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The design up front is aggressive and employs a multi-layered full-fairing with dual projector headlamps and LED DRL’s. The turn indicators are also LED and resemble the ones as seen on the KTM Duke range. Keeping to the ‘Race Sport’ tag the new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 comes with front windscreen, split seats and a tall two-piece handlebar. The sharp rear end gets mudguard mounted floating LED tail lamps which looks unique but may not appeal to all. The underbelly exhaust too has been replaced by a conventional single-sided unit with a beefy muffler. The overall sporty styling of the bike should appeal to the youngsters who have a soft spot for super-sports style motorcycles.
