by Rahul Basu Posted on 18 Oct 201163,754 Views Comments

The first motorcycle to be launched under Hero MotoCorp, the "impulse" also becomes India's only dual-purpose on-road-off-road motorcycle, and can be yours for Rs 66,800/-

Showcased for the first time globally at Hero MotoCorp’s new global brand identity unveiling at London’s O2 Arena on August 9th this year, the high-heeled “Hero Impulse” motorcycle is largely based on the Brazilian market Honda NXR150 model.

Now available in India as the country’s first and only dual-purpose on-road-off-road bike, the launch of the “Impulse” has opened up an entirely new segment in the Indian two-wheeler market. Under the new “Hero” brand name, the Impulse comes with the power of a 150 cc engine and delivers a maximum power of 9.7 KW (13.2Ps) @ 7500 rpm and a Torque of 13.40 Nm @ 5000 rpm.

It has been loaded with versatile features that include nitrox-gas filled mono-shock rear suspension and a high ground clearance with a large front wheel with stud-type tread pattern tyres, and large front disc brakes for more responsive braking.

Other noteworthy features include solid knuckle guards, sporty high mount muffler, large and raised durable sporty fenders, straight pull spokes and motocross seat for the real off-road experience. Digital Combi meter with “Service Due” indicator, ‘lock and digital vertical bar display fuel gauge’ adds to the overall style of this must have bike for the Indian youth.

At the launch of Hero MotoCorp’s ‘Impulse’ motorcycle in India, Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp said, “Impulse - the first model to be launched under our new brand identity – is not just a new product. It also introduces an entirely new segment within the motorcycle market, i.e. the ‘on-road-off-road’ segment. This is a dual-purpose bike, which can be used on regular city roads as well as on off-road terrain. With the attractive price tag, we are sure ‘Impulse’ is going to bring a lot of cheer and added excitement for our customers this festive season. And so, we have planned to make Impulse available for test rides and purchase at several locations across the country ahead of Diwali.”

The new Hero “Impulse”, which has been very attractively priced at Rs 66,800/- (ex-showroom Delhi), is available in five exciting colours - Black, Vibrant Blue Metallic, Sports Red, Leaf Green Metallic & Vibrant Orange.
