Prices of the new feature-rich hatchback and sedan variants start from Rs 4.47 lakh and Rs 5.23 lakh respectively

Chevrolet Sail Sedan

Chevrolet has launched limited edition variants of the Sail sedan and Sail U-VA hatchback. Dealers tell us that both cars get accessories worth Rs 14,000-40,000 over and above the standard variants and these accessories can be fitted to every trim. The Sail sedan limited edition starts at Rs 5.23 lakh and the Sail U-VA hatchback’s prices begin from Rs 4.47 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. All limited edition models will sell alongside the standard variants and are only an upgrade package.

The accessories included in the package for both cars include illuminated door sills and different seat covers on the inside and side body decals, extra splashes of chrome, integrated turn indicators in the outside rear view mirrors and limited edition badging to differentiate it from the standard variants. Moreover, the hatchback gets roof rails and the sedan gets rear parking sensors.

Chevrolet Sail U-VA hatchback

If you will recall, the Enjoy received a similar limited edition stimulus package to garner interest in the product in January. The limited edition Sail and U-VA are offers along the same lines. In fact, the entire range has some offers running in February. Chevrolet has benefits of up to Rs 56,000 on the Spark, Rs 38,000 on the Enjoy and Rs 45,000 on the Cruze. These include exchange bonus, loyalty bonus, corporate discount and some accessories bundled in. The Beat doesn’t get any offers from the manufacturer though you might find something at the dealer level.

The Beat, Sail and Sail U-VA are falling short on the sales front despite the rather popular Fiat multijet engine under the hood. Cumulatively, the trio has sold just over 2,200 units last month and sales have dropped to 28,164 units this financial year from the high of 43,596 units last financial year till January. This dip in sales can be attributed to the bad press GM has received with the Tavera emissions fiasco and the sacking of several top officials in the GM India fold.
