ZigWheels on ET Now wins NT Award for best Auto Show in India

In just under three years since rolling its first ever show on national television, the ZigWheels Show on the ET Now channel has already made a mark in the broadcast world by bagging the coveted award of being the Best 'Auto Show' at the 2012 NT Awards
The NT Awards have become bigger and better with awards conferred to achievers across English, Hindi, Telugu and Marathi news channels in 2011. However, while growth in the country’s news television sphere has grown tremendously in recent years and while the automotive fraternity remains a miniscule part of that world, at ZigWheels the team has continually tried to put forth the true potential and solidity of our evolving automotive industry.
Since airing the first episode on 23 June, 2009, the ZigWheels show on ET Now has completed two full seasons with more than 140 episodes and counting. Topics covered on our show range from the launches of the most promising cars and bikes entering the Indian market, significant events from the automotive world, interviews with eminent personalities in the field and the exciting world of national and international Motorsports.
Another unique aspect of the show has been the showcasing of the latest concepts and international models at various automobile conventions from Europe to Asia with a larger focus on attempting to periodically educate our viewers on the global industry and where India stands as compared to it.
Commenting on this applause-worthy triumph by the ZigWheels team, Editor in Chief Adil Jal Darukhanawala said, “ZigWheels has never been a one man show. All that we stand for today is the result of great team work and genuine hard work. Our show has continually showcased and focused on a wide range of automotive topics. It’s always been an exercise aimed at educating our audience rather than exciting them with flamboyant showmanship. While undisputed recognition in the television space has only added to our overall credibility, ZigWheels as a brand has been making an impact across a variety of social and multimedia platforms. Cross pollination of content across verticals like our website that pulls in over 2 million online readers each month, weekly supplements with the country’s largest selling newspaper and two monthly magazines catering exclusively to petrol heads and motorsport enthusiasts alike has helped the brand quickly establish a connect with auto readers pan India.
Besides such an exhaustive list of regulars, ZigWheels publishes the country’s only annual on F1 and MotoGP racing. If that’s not all, the editor has also penned a comprehensively researched book on automotive history titled Classic Cars and Thoroughbreds.
The best Auto Show Award at the 2012 NT Awards was presented to the ZigWheels team by none other than Sabrina Lall at the event hosted at The Lalit, New Delhi , on 28th March 2012. It was one amongst 44 categories of awards presented that evening. This feat could not have been achieved without the contributions of the Editorial Team, the TV Crew and many other back room personnel who work tirelessly and passionately to build the brand day after day.
