After much speculation and teaser images, the MV Agusta F4 RC has finally been unveiled. The RC moniker stands for Reparto Corse which means racing department. With the Superbike World Championship limiting the modifications on which the racing bikes are based, the MV Agusta F4 RC benefits from this rule changes. The Superbike World Championship drastically limits the modifications that can be made to production models. Because of which the MV Agusta F4 RC has been loaded to the brim with power and technology to endow MV Agusta with a bright prospect on the race track. Powering the superbike is a 998cc, four-cylinder motor churning out 208PS at 13,600rpm and peak torque of 115Nm at 9,3000rpm. The power output can be hiked to 215PS with the optional kit version with exhaust system and dedicated control unit. This makes the MV Agusta F4 RC among the most powerful litre-class production motorcycles on sale globally.

The powerplant is mated to a cassette style; 6-speed, constant mesh gearbox to transmit the firepower to the rear-wheel. To maximise efficiency, silicone cooling circuit hoses have been employed. MV Agusta engineers have paid special attention in reducing the weight of the bike and by employing all-titanium bolts and screws; they have managed to shave off an impressive 1.1 kg. To keep the insane amount of power under check, the MV Agusta F4 RC has been equipped with MVICS 2.0 electronics system specifically developed by MV Agusta for all its models.

Other goodies include a Ride-By-Wire system, traction control system rear-wheel lift control, 8-level ABS and Electronically Assisted Shift system allows clutchless gear changes, speeding up shifts significantly and resulting in shorter lap times. Carbon fibre has been used extensively to keep the weight low and the exotic material has been used on the side panels, lower fairing, mudguards, chain guard, the upper airbox section etc. Forged aluminium alloy wheels and a light lithium ion battery further help in reducing the weight. All these changes have resulted in the MV Agusta F4 RC weighing 15kg lighter than the RR model with a dry weight of just 175kg. Braking is done by a pair of 320 mm front discs with steel braking rotors and monobloc Brembo M50 callipers while at the rear a 4-piston calliper and 210 mm disc does duty. The MV Agusta F4 RC owners will be provided with a Termignoni exhaust, seat cowl, ECU upgrade and other goodies that reduce the weight of the bike by another 6kg and hikes the power output to 215PS. To maintain exclusivity, the MV Agusta F4 RC will be limited to just 250 units with each bike commanding a cool Rs 28.7 lakh in the American market.
