India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd. has declared the sales reports for the month of April 2016. The company has reportedly sold 63,927 units in the domestic market (including Nepal) as compared to 38,568 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The sales figures indicate positive sales growth of 66 per cent in India.
Commenting on the April sales figures, Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd. said, “As the Q1 growth trajectory of 47% steadily headways into the current quarter with 66% growth in April 2016, Yamaha will continue its consolidated performance of steady sales growth along with more network expansion. Fascino is doing extremely well and with Cygnus Ray-ZR launched, Yamaha is looking to further augment its position in the scooter market by targeting 10% market share by end of 2016. Yamaha’s introduction of Saluto RX will sport more excitement as now it will cater to the requirements of basic commuter segment.”
The rise in sales growth can be related to the increased focus the company is giving to Tier II and Tier III cities. Yamaha is generating good sales figures with the Fascino and is expecting to receive similar response for the Cygnus Ray-ZR scooter. The manufacturer has also recently introduced the Saluto RX, an 110cc offering targeted at the commuter segment.
