Honda NX400 Launched In Japan; CBR400R Receives Updates

Sumit Loucs Toppo of Prolap Racing carried his superb form and skills to the final round as well, and clinched the CBR250R Championship Cup to take home the glittering trophy and a brand new Honda CBR 150R. Closely following with just a 5 point difference was first runner up Sarath Kumar of Ten 10 Racing. Sarath was also awarded a trophy and Rs 20,000 cash prize. Third position on podium was secured by A. Prabhu of Motorev India, who was awarded Rs 10,000 cash prize and a trophy.
The team winners were Ten 10 Racing who won the team’s Championship cup trophy and a CBR 250R. In the Novice category, Naresh Babu won the CBR 150R Championship Cup, followed by R Rajanikanth and E. Sarvannan on second and third positions respectively.
In Round 5 races, newcomer Ami Van Poederooijen took a surprise win in the Honda CBR 150 Novice category. Vivian Gladwin David came in second with Shoban Bapu getting his first podium of the year to finish in 3rd place.
The final round of the 2014 MMSC-FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship got off to a great start with Sarath Kumar winning a four-way tussle in the Honda CBR250 Open race. Sarath was unstoppable in qualifying when he was one second faster than his rivals but the race proved to be a completely different ball game.
Sarath started on pole position and led with Deepak R and Sumit Loucs Toppo closely behind. Lal Rindika also joined the action and soon all four riders were swapping places throughout the race. In the end, Sarath used his experience to cross the finish line in first place, just 0.082 seconds ahead of Deepak. Rindika finished in third place just ahead of Sumit Loucs Toppo.
Since its inception in 2008, the Honda One Make Race continues to grow in scale and prestige, drawing a total of 319 entries in 2014 from biking enthusiasts converging from as far as Mizoram, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Aizawl, Jalgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Trichy and Auroville.

We are encouraged by the improvement in performance of the Indian riders in the competition and for the first time, two Indian riders have become among the top 10 riders across Asia. We wish them the best in the remaining two rounds at Thailand and Qatar. We have also signed an MoU with Ten 10 Racing Academy for training riders over 15 years of age. We will also continue to provide all possible support and nurture youngsters,” said Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd.
Riders from the Honda One Make Race are chosen to participate in the Asia Dream Cup, the brainchild of Honda Motor Company, Japan. Through the One Make Race series, bikes for which are provided by Honda, Indian riders are given a platform to develop riding skills comparable to the best of Asian riders, and compete in the Asia Dream Cup.
