The Volvo S90 will be the newest addition to Volvo India’s portfolio and will see many takers due to its new design language and stylish interiors.

The Volvo S90 was internationally unveiled a few months ago and instantly became one of our favorite luxury cars because of its simple design and elegant interiors. And now we have confirmed news that the new S90 will be launched in India by the end of the year with deliveries to customers by November or December. The new Volvo S90 will get a 4-cylinder petrol engine and a sub 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine.

In terms of design, just like all new Volvos, the S90 comes with the large grille and LED headlamps with the Thor’s hammer design element in the headlight that is the Scandinavian auto manufacturer’s new calling card. The S90 showcases a simple design overall with immense attention to detail and an overall look that seems well restrained and not overdone. Both the front and the rear accentuate the width of the S90 with vertical elements making an appearance. We especially like the rear tail lamps and the ridge-like styling element that runs across the bootlid.

On the interior front, the Volvo S90 will showcase a simple design element with attention to detail taking a centre stage to the likes of over the top design. Of course, the huge central screen is still the centre of attraction. The seats too are well contoured to be adjustable in almost every way possible in order to give the perfect driving position. The new S90 that will make it to India will get all the gadgets and gizmos that the international ones will.

When it goes on sale by the end of the year, the S90 will slot somewhere in between the segments that have players like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the likes of the BMW 5 Series, the Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Volvo now only makes 4-cylinder engines with hybrid tech and the cars that will make it to India will get both petrol and diesel engines. Expect the diesel to be the big seller of course attracting the customer who wants to stand out from the crown and opt for the alternative. Expect the car to be showcased for the first time by July with an actually launch sometime later in the year. Deliveries will start by November or December with an expected price tag of about Rs 50-60 lakh.
