Riding on the decent success of the new Vento facelift, Volkswagen India reported sale of 4,029 units in the month of July 2015, as compared to 3,409 units sold in the corresponding month the previous year. The European car manufacturer witnessed a strong growth of 18 per cent in overall monthly sales.
With safety being a major concern and the fact that many car buyers have started to appreciate the quality and driving dynamics offered by the German automobile marque, the growing trust in Volkswagen in recent times cannot be ignored. The Volkswagen Polo, the only hatchback in its segment that comes with a 4-star NCAP safety rating for adult occupants, also continues to contribute to Volkswagen’s increase in sales.
Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said, “With the advent of the third quarter, and the encouraging customer response for the recently launched New Vento, we are happy to announce that our sales have gone up by 18 per cent in July 2015, on a year-on-year basis. Also, with a slew of exciting made-for-India products lined for the next two years and backed by an impressive sales performance for the sixth consecutive month, we are confident of further strengthening our position in the Indian market over the coming months.”
