Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently organized a “Big Bike Ride” with the Group of Delhi Superbikers (GODS) to promote safe riding.
A total of 25 riders participated in the ride, which was flagged off from Honda’s New Wing World Showroom at Naraina, Delhi and culminated in Manesar. The focus of the ride was to promote road safety as well as to educate riders on safe riding and how to handle emergency medical situations.
“As a responsible corporate, Honda has always emphasized on road safety. Such endeavours are amongst the many that Honda undertakes to promote fun riding in a safe way without losing the thrill,” said Y.S. Guleria, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
An expert medical trainer briefed bikers on emergency measures to be taken while on a ride and in the event of being faced with a medical emergency. The session included demonstration of handling unconscious riders, attending to fractures and small injuries, transferring an injured rider with necessary caution and the correct way of picking up a motorbike in case of a fall.
“The group today learnt tips and techniques that will not only be handy, but also be useful in the long run. These recreational activities not only promote safe riding but also educate riders to be wary of extreme situations,” said Dr Arun Theraja, Founder, Group of Delhi Superbikers (GODS).
Every participant was also gifted a specially designed first aid kit comprising all essential medical kits.
