Mahindra’s urban electric car, the Mahindra e2o, developed using Mahindra Reva’s technology was launched in India in 2013. Although sales of this eco-friendly vehicle didn’t pick up, Mahindra is determined to make this product a success. The Indian carmaker will refurbish its entire range and the electric vehicle will now be launched in three variants namely, the Mahindra e2o To1, Mahindra e2o T2 Premium and Mahindra e2o T2o Premium+Quick2Charge.
The base variant To1 will be void of power steering, infotainment system and electric ORVMs. It will come powered with a 14.8KW electric motor that will deliver 19.8PS of power and 53.9Nm of torque. The e2o To1 will accelerate to a claimed top-speed of 75kmph and will have a total range of 80km.
The mid-spec Mahindra e2o T2 will produce a claimed 25.47PS of power from its electric motor and a peak torque of 53.9Nm of torque. This variant will come loaded with features that are given a miss in the base variant. The e2o T2 gets an electric power steering, electrical ORVMs, music system and reverse camera. This variant will clock a claimed 81kmph with a range of 120km.
The top-end T2o variant will accelerate with the same speed and will have the same range as Mahindra’s mid-spec variant. This variant will, however, come with a new Quick2Charge feature which will enable this car to charge completely in just 60 minutes.
The prices of the new variants will be announced shortly.
