There has been fierce competition in the two-wheeler scooter market, as manufacturers are introducing more and more new models to woo users. According to the report recently released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), TVS Jupiter has entered the top 10 selling two-wheeler charts for the month of November 2015. The Jupiter - also the worthy winner of our five-scooter mega shootout -- has achieved a sales figure of 51,768 units for the month of November 2015, as compared to 32,138 units corresponding to previous year, achieving a commendable growth of 61 per cent. Along with the TVS Jupiter, the Honda Dio and Mahindra Gusto also achieved a positive growth in sales.

The Honda Dio managed to sell 17,090 units over 14,959 units sold last November, achieving a growth of 14 per cent. Mahindra Gusto sold 8,646 units registering a remarkable growth rate of 173 per cent as compared to last year’s November figures. The Yamaha Fascino also performed fairly well as it entered the top 10 charts by selling 13,078 units securing sixth position.

On the other hand, the scooter segment leader Honda Activa continued to remain on top of the list despite a declined drop in sales figures by 4 per cent. Honda managed to sell 1,83,824 units of the Activa for the month of November 2015 as compared to 1,91,175 units in the corresponding last year. Hero Maestro also experienced drop of 15 per cent in sales figures as it sold 35,672 units in November 2015 as compared to 41,959 units sold in the corresponding month last year. Hero’s newly launched Duet sold 18,240 units last month. Hero Pleasure was probably the worst hit scooter as it listed a 40 per cent drop in sales this November.

With the above report, the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo will provide an opportunity for manufacturers to build their brand popularity by showcasing new two-wheelers that users can look forward for in the year 2016.
