TVS-BMW 300cc bike will be offered in multiple models

The TVS-BMW motorcycle is among the most highly anticipated upcoming motorcycles. Under this partnership it was decided that BMW Motorrad will design and develop the motorcycle with its vast experience of developing performance oriented machines. TVS on the other hand will produce the motorcycle at its manufacturing facility in Hosur. By manufacturing the bike in India, the pricing of the motorcycle will be competitive as showcased by KTM.

BMW Motorrad officials have shared that the motorcycle is in its final stage of testing and will be unveiled soon. It is expected the BNW-TVS motorcycle will be showcased at the EICMA or INTERMOT motorcycle show next month. The upcoming TVS-BMW motorcycle has been codenamed K03 and from the spy pictures it was clear that the new motorcycle will be a street fighter. But BMW Motorrad officials have hinted that multiple models of the TVS-BMW motorcycle could be manufactured on the same base platform. This doesn’t come as a surprise as manufacturers nowadays develop a platform to produce different variants which keeps the development cost under check.

 It is expected that the next BMW-TVS motorcycle post the K03 could be a super sports offering to take on the likes of the KTM RC 390, Yamaha R3 or an entry level adventure tourer with long travel suspension and the works. The BMW official also hinted that the performance of the new TVS-BMW K03 wouldn’t be ferocious like the KTM’s but will be more refined and will have a docile nature which should be appreciated by mature riders. The TVS-BMW K03 will be powered by a 300cc, single-cylinder motor expected to churn out around 30PS of power and 31Nm of peak torque. On the Indian context, expect the TVS-BMW motorcycle to make its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo with a possible launch by mid-2016.
