The news that TVS Motor has been working on a new motorcycle which would expand its Apache series hasn't been the best kept secret in a while. It is assumed that the new Apache will be based on the Draken naked sports bike concept that TVS showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo last year. The Draken concept model offered a sneak peak at the upcoming next generation Apache RTR models’ design language. The features that would be very much welcomed on the New Apache RTR 200 would be the side mounted rear mono shock, liquid cooling, and the engine itself that is mated to a six-speed transmission as showcased on the Dreken concept. Although the specs of the new bike have not yet been revealed we can expect it to be quite a performer thanks to inputs from partners BMW Motorrad.
Launch Update - TVS Apache RTR 200 4V launched at Rs 88,990
We reckon that TVS might continue with the production of the 160cc variant while replacing the 180cc variant with the new 200cc variant. Talking about the price of the upcoming bike, we expect the TVS Apache 200 to be around the Rs. 1 lakh mark.
The next generation Apache - if it indeed turns out to be powered by the 200cc mill that everyone have conjectured so far - will be up against the likes of Bajaj 200NS and KTM Duke 200 in the current market.
