TVS has added the disc brake version of the Jupiter to its variant lineup. The scooter is now available at a price tag of Rs 58,929 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), however, the manufacturer hasn't made any official comments on this particular launch. We confirmed the same with various dealers, and the on-road price take the price up by around Rs 8,000. The new Jupiter is called as the MillionR variant and sits above the ZX trim. The TVS Jupiter MillionR variant now becomes the most expensive offering in its scooter lineup.
Apart from the addition of a disc brake, the Jupiter also gets various cosmetic updates. TVS has donned the MillionR trim with upgrades such as the ‘Royal Wine’ colour, chrome accents on the rear view mirrors, chrome garnish on the side. Moreover, it gets a beige coloured inner panel, dual tone seat cover, mobile charging point inside the storage compartment and ‘MillionR’ badges to further distinguish it from the other variants.
Speaking of the technical specification, the front disc is of 220mm of diameter, which will certainly increase the stopping capabilities of the Jupiter. The TVS Wego is the other TVS offering to get disc brake as an optional extra. No mechanical changes have been made to the scooter and it continues to be powered by the same 110cc engine that produces 8PS of power at 7,500rpm and 8Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Moreover, the Jupiter benefits from front telescopic suspension and rear gas charged unit, along with 12-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. TVS is also working on a fuel injected version of the Jupiter that was spotted undergoing testing which we feel is an attempt to make the 110cc motor BS IV compliant. The TVS Jupiter in our opinion is the best 110cc scooter on sale in the Indian market and the addition of disc brake only adds to its repertoire.
