Both the motorcycles will be powered by the same 900cc engine used in the Street Twin

Triumph Bonneville Range

The Triumph Bonneville range is a distinctive class of motorcycles that follows the classic old school styling with modern engineering. The company has recently submitted certification documents to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for two new motorcycles, the Bonneville T100 and the Street Cup. Both the bikes will be powered by the same engine that currently works in the Street Twin.

Triumph Bonneville T100 with Street twin engine

Triumph already has the Bonneville T100 on sale in India. It is powered by the 865cc air-cooled parallel-twin DOHC motor that spits out 60PS of max power and 61Nm of peak torque. If the images of the updated motorcycle are anything to go by, the T100 will soon be introduced with a liquid-cooled unit. And it won't quite take a genius to guess that Triumph will ditch the older mill and replace it with the new 900cc liquid-cooled mill that is already being used in the Street Twin. This unit belts out 55PS of power and 80Nm of peak torque. While this new engine is on the lower side in terms of power output, it has good increase in low- and mid-end torque which is rather welcomed for in city use.

Triumph Bonneville Street Twin

Moving to the Street Cup, till date this motorcycle has not been spotted on road, deeming it to be a mystery bike from the British manufacturer. As the nomenclature of the model carries the name ‘Street’ means it will be closely related to the Street Twin, while the ‘Cup’ although dubious could be linked to its inclination to either a café racer or a scrambler model. This new mystery bike might just make its place between the Street Twin and the 1200cc Thruxton and Thruxton R.

That being said, it is only a matter of time before more information of the mystery bike starts to surface on the internet. Watch is space for more updates on the new upcoming motorcycles.
