Top 10 car discounts on offer in August 2015

The car industry may be thriving right now and plenty of new models have hit the market and seen success recently. But sales haven’t risen high enough to not impact the existing players. And so, while some cars are selling well, they are eating into the market share of their competitors. The good news is, you get a great bargain on the cars that are not in much demand. We’ve collated a list of the top ten cars on offer this month in the city of Mumbai.

1. Tata Aria

Only the Pleasure 4x2 variant comes up in our discounts list with a Rs 1 lakh exchange bonus and a Rs 15,000 corporate discount. Sales of the Aria have dwindled considerably with the company able to sell in double digits every month. It’s a good time to buy the spacious MPV.

2. Skoda Superb

If you can’t wait for the new Superb that is coming sometime next year and are a Skoda loyalist, you could walk away with a Rs 1 lakh discount on the Superb. These include a Rs 80,000 free insurance and a Rs 20,000 loyalty bonus.

3. Nissan Terrano

Discounts on the Terrano range between Rs 60,000 to Rs 1 lakh. All variants gets a bundled offer of a Rs 20,000 cash discount, a Rs 30,000 exchange bonus and a Rs 10,000 cash discount. The base 85PS XE variant however comes with a whooping Rs 1 lakh cash discount.

4. Nissan Evalia

Nissan’s boxy MPV is a well built car but suffers from a weak image. Since its launch in 2012, Nissan could not sell more than 2500 units of the Evalia which has led to the end of its production run in India. There’s still a sizeable stockpile to clear, and to get the inventory cleared as soon as possible Nissan is offering a cash discount of Rs 1 lakh on the Evalia.

5. Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra’s best selling UV is being offered with a Rs 83,500 bundled offer that includes a cash discount of Rs 35,000, exchange bonus of Rs 30,000, corporate discount of Rs 3,500 and loyalty bonus of Rs 15,000. 

6. Volkswagen Polo and Cross Polo

Volkswagen has given the Polo a fantastic update that has helped boost sales considerably. The Polo however doesn’t come as well equipped as its competition and so is starting to lose out on the Elite i20 and Jazz. And that means you get a bundled discount from Rs 43,000-73,000 on the Polo and Cross Polo.

7. Tata Vista Tech

Tata’s Vista still has a few takers looking for a large hatchback on a budget. A cash discount worth Rs 70,000 on the already affordable hatchback makes it quite a tempting deal if you don’t mind a dated product.

8. Skoda Rapid

The Rapid has always been in the Vento’s shadows and runs in a segment that is bursting with strong competitors. You benefit from a Rs 50,000 free insurance and a Rs 20,000 loyalty bonus if you already own a Skoda car.

9. Maruti Alto 800

Maruti’s budget runabout hasn’t been as big a hit as Maruti anticipated. The company is offering a Rs 35,000 cash discount on the car and there’s a Rs 3,000 corporate discount in there too. Since it is a first time buyer’s car, we don’t expect many to avail of the additional Rs 30,000 exchange bonus though.  Total benefit is worth Rs 68,000.

10. Maruti Wagon R

The Wagon R and the Wagon R Stingray get a similar offer. Rs 35,000 cash discount, Rs 25,000 exchange bonus and a Rs 3,000 corporate discount.
