Nissan India has announced a price hike on all its cars from January 2015 and that includes the Datsun brand. Like all other manufacturers using the new year to revise prices of their products, Nissan too has done the same citing rising input costs. Nissan cars will see a price hike by up to 2.5 percent or Rs 18,000 at most for the top of the line Terrano which is Nissan’s most expensive car and up to 3 percent or Rs 11,000 on the Datsun Go top end variant.
Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan India said, “We have increased prices due to rising input costs, although we are confident Nissan and Datsun vehicles will continue to offer excellent value and choice to our customers. Despite recent high inflation, the outlook for the Indian economy is positive.” Nissan sells the Datsun Go, Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia and the Terrano in India.
Since the Go+ hasn’t been launched yet, expect its pricing to be in line with the revised prices of the Go hatchback which means about Rs 11,000 more than what it would have been at current prices. What these prices also mean is that if you buy your car this month, you will get them 2.5-3 percent cheaper than in January in addition to the massive year end discounts all manufacturers are running.
