Tata Motors' Group global wholesale numbers continued to show a declining trend in August 2014

Following a poor performance in the domestic market, Tata Motors’ Group global wholesale numbers continued to show a declining trend in August 2014. The overall sale, including sales of its subsidiary (wholly owned) Jaguar Land Rover, stood at a total of 73,524 units. Cumulative fiscal wholesales were 3,81,935 units. The company registered a 9.7 per cent decline in its global sales as opposed to the 81,457 units that it sold in the same month last year.

Global wholesales for all commercial vehicles including the Tata Daewoo as well as the Tata Hispano Carrocera range stood at 30,536 units. Cumulative wholesales for all commercial vehicles for the fiscal were a total of 1,49,321 units.

The passenger vehicles category registered a decline in sales figures by 1.11 per cent with the global sales standing at 42,988 units last month, as opposed to 43,474 units in August 2013.

Global wholesale for JLR was at 31,650 units in August 2014, compared to 30,895 units in the same month last year. Sales of commercial vehicles declined 19.6 per cent in August to 30,536 units from 37,983 units a year ago.

Tata Motors has a total of over 80 lakh vehicles plying in the Indian domestic market. The Indian carmaker also has operations in UK, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia.
