The Piaggio Ape has sold over 19 lakh units in the last 15 years, since it was first introduced. To further strengthen the diesel powered three wheeler’s popularity, the Italian automobile company has given it a makeover and launched the Piaggio Ape Xtra DLX priced at Rs 1.74 lakh ex-showroom, Maharashtra.
The changes on the new Piaggio Ape Xtra DLX include slight redesign with stronger sheet metal, new headlamps, a better looking dashboard along with new handlebar switch. Moreover, the company has worked to the Piaggio Ape Xtra Dlx’s paint treatment for added gloss and better colour retention, as well as higher rust prevention which is said to give the vehicle a longer life.
