Tata Motors has tasted success with its Zest and Bolt cars that were launched recently. The Zest even managed to surprise many by outselling the Honda Amaze for two consecutive months last year. The company has posted a rise in sales by 22 per cent in the month of February, 2015.

The Indian carmaker attributes this sales spike to the Zest compact sedan and its Bolt hatchback. Encouraged by this success, Tata Motors has decided to further bolster its presence in the country by introducing keyless entry system as standard across all its models from 2016.

It will be the first time that an Indian manufacturer will offer a complete keyless system on its cars. The system includes a key control unit, antenna, door sensor, electronic steering local and a start /stop button. This new system will be available on Tata car models from the Q3 of 2016 suggests the report.

Marquardt is a maker of intelligent driver authorisation systems and makes anti-theft security systems that are found in Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Chrysler. Declining to give details on the order value, Marquardt stated that the initial supplies will come from the company’s China plant and depending on the market response, the company will take a call on establishing its own production facility in India.
