Isuzu Max Run Challenge culminated

Isuzu Motors has concluded its Isuzu Max Run Challenge held between Vijayawada and Mumbai from September 23-25, 2014. The official evaluators of the drive, KPMG, presented an evaluation report on the conclusion of the drive in Mumbai. Starting from Vijayawada, three Isuzu D-Max pick-up trucks drove through Hyderabad, Solapur and Pune before reaching Mumbai, thus covering a distance of more than 1,000km on a single full fuel tank.

Commenting on the occasion, Takashi Kikuchi, President and Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, said, “It is an important and exciting day for us, since our three day Isuzu Max run challenge concludes today. We are extremely happy to have organised such a drive. The Isuzu Max Run Challenge is a global initiative that has been successfully undertaken in Australia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and the Middle East. World over the Isuzu D-Max is known for its excellent fuel efficiency, power, torque, operating economy and we wanted to prove the same in India as well.”

“The three day drive has not only facilitated in demonstrating the USP of the vehicle, which is fuel efficiency and vehicle performance, but has also established the fact that with correct driving technique, anyone can get the best out of an Isuzu. Isuzu has conducted fuel efficiency training in different countries and we would like to extend this for the Indian customers too,” he further added.

The three Isuzu D-Max pick-up trucks were equipped with the GPS Telemetry System in order to facilitate the exact kilometres travelled and to track the drive in real time. The Isuzu D-MAX achieved an average of 18.3kmpl under real world conditions according to the evaluation report.

Isuzu D-Max pick-up is powered by a 2,499cc, four-cylinder intercooled turbocharged diesel engine which churns out 134PS of power and 294Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
