CommentsNew plant in Rohtak to be completed in 2014 and have a planned production capacity of 5 lakh units

Suzuki Motorcycle India is building a new two-wheeler plant at Rohtak in Haryana. The decision was taken to meet increasing demand and to reduce waiting periods. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupindersite to commence plans of action.
The market for two wheelers in India has been expanding and has crossed 13.4 million units in the last financial year 2011-2012. The market is expected to further increase in the coming year for which Suzuki Motorcycle has taken an approval from the Haryana Government to build an additional two wheeler and components plant on a 4 lakh square meter land that is part of property allotted to Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), subsidiary of SMC in India.
The planned production capacity of this plant is 5 lakh units, and the plant is expected to be completed in 2014. Further expansion of the plant will be planned according to the expansion of the Suzuki’s Gurgaon plant currently produces two scooters namely the Suzuki Swish and the Suzuki Access that is 122 per cent of the previous year. Suzuki’s plans to expand seem fairly competitive yet foresighted.
