Struggling models see the end of the road as Suzuki decides to focus on newer range

Suzuki Kizashi Axed

Suzuki has stopped production of the Grand Vitara SUV and Kizashi sedan, a Company spokesperson informed Just-Auto. Both cars didn’t create any impact when they were on sale in India. These cars have been discontinued in India for a while now.

The Grand Vitara was made at Suzuki’s Iwata plant and the Kizashi was produced at their Sagara plant. The Kizashi had a production run of just five years and now after the company stopped its production, there is no premium sedan in the Suzuki line-up. The company will now back on the new Vitara and the Ciaz to take up the role, albeit a segment below these cars. The company also has the Suzuki S-Cross but that too is positioned a notch below. No direct replacements of these two cars are available.

Suzuki Grand Vitara discontinued

The Grand Vitara was a body-on-frame petrol SUV feeding on a heavy diet of petrol and that didn’t go well with Indian customers resulting only a handful of these SUVs making it to Indian shores. The Kizashi competed against the likes of the Civic and Elantra but was priced considerably higher as Suzuki got the car in as a CBU. The idea was to make it an halo product and increase the brand’s value, but it didn’t work for the company.
