A picture of a stockyard full of Maruti’s soon-to-be-launched Ciaz sedan has surfaced, indicating that the company is ready to ship the sedans to dealerships anytime.

The Ciaz will be launched in September and will replace the SX4 to take on rivals such as the Honda City and Hyundai Verna. Expect features such as projector headlamps, dual airbags, ABS, EBD, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry with engine starter button, multifunction steering wheel and rear AC vents in the top-end trim.

The Ciaz will be powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine making 95PS of power and 130Nm of maximum torque. The diesel variant is expected to be powered by the tried and tested Fiat 1.3-litre engine with 90PS peak power and 200Nm maximum torque. Two gearboxes – one manual and one automatic are expected to do service in the Ciaz, although we aren’t sure whether it will be a CVT gearbox or Maruti’s new AMT setup. It’s expected to be priced between Rs 7-10 lakh (ex-showroom).
