SsangYoung, the Korean car manufacturer owned by India’s Mahindra and Mahindra, has launched the Tivoli Air in South Korea. The SsangYoung Tivoli Air is also called the Tivoli XLV and was first unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The Tivoli Air is basically an extended version of the standard Tivoli that was showcased at the recent 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
The SsangYoung Tivoli is a compact SUV and has an overall length of 4,195mm. The extra section after the C-pillar of the SsangYoung Tivoli Air makes the vehicle 235mm longer than the standard variant. However, the wheelbase of both models is same at 2600mm. Inside, the rear luggage area is now 720 litres that can be further increased to 1,440 litres by folding down the rear seats. This increased space allows more room for luggage and passengers. The second-row seat backrest can also be reclined at an angle of 32.5 degrees.
Fire power for the Tivoli Air is same as the standard variant i.e. a 1.6-litre e-XDi LET diesel engine which produces 115PS of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque. A petrol variant has been skipped for the Tivoli Air. Power will be transmitted to the driving wheels through either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission sourced from Aisin.
