Snapdeal ties up with Mahindra to sell bullet proof kits

Snapdeal.com has partnered with Mahindra and Mahindra's Defense Land Systems India, to sell bullet proof kits for the latter's Scorpio vehicles

Elections are round the corners and Snapdeal has decided to cash in by selling poll related products. Snapdeal.com has signed an agreement with Defense Land Systems, a Mahindra Group company, under which the online shopping portal will sell bullet proof kits for Mahindra Scorpio for added protection from any untoward security challenge.

The kit can be booked online by paying an initial amount of Rs 75,000. The kit includes all sides bullet proof panels, bullet proof glasses, a vehicle tracking device and an anti-explosion material kit for fuel tank. The total cost of bullet-proof kit is approximately Rs 12.66 lakh.

Tony Navin, Vice President, Business Development, Snapdeal, says, “This is the first time Indian customers will be able to access such a product in the online space.While the brand itself is a guarantee of product quality and cost effectiveness, we are pleased to be able to offer their range of bullet proof kits to buyers online who are looking at a credible source for such requirements and are often in doubt about the right buying platform for the same.”

According to Sukhvindar Hayer, Sr General Manager, Defense Land Systems India, the company supplies light-armoured vehicles to the Indian security forces, and is the largest private sector supplier of the same. "Keeping in view the ever increasing security issues, while we continue to improve the survivability solutions for our gallant soldiers and policemen, our offer through Snapdeal is to provide the relevant NIJ Level 2 (protection levels against 9 mm bullets) kits for protection-in-transit solutions to the citizen.
