
Sahara Force India announces the winners of The One from a Billion Hunt
The Sahara Force India Formula One Team, owned by Dr. Vijay Mallya and Mobil 1 announced the winners of the Sahara Force India Formula One One from a Billion Hunt. Conducted over seven cities, this talent hunt has given three lads under the age of 14 a chance to be the Formula One drivers one day.

Three kids will have the opportunity to be the best one day. This is what the One from a Billion Hunt was all about. Conducted by The Sahara Force India Formula One Team in association with Mobil 1, the talent hunt took place over seven cities from thousands of applicants. The winner Arjun Maini (14 years old) from Banagalore and the runners up, Tarun Reddy (14 years) and Jehan Daruwala (13 years), who is a wild card entry will receive a fully funded European based driver programme which will also take care of their education and lodging in Europe by Sahara Force India as well.
“We have discovered three extremely talented participants during the Silverstone finals of the ‘One From A Billion Hunt’. We are delighted with the response the program has received till now and we wish the winners all the very best. Through the Sahara Force India Formula One Team Academy, we look forward to help nurture and groom this young talent while providing then with the necessary skills required to be F1 drivers for the Sahara Force India Formula One Team,” said Dr. Vijay Mallya, Team Principal and Managing Director, Sahara Force India Formula One Team.

The scrutiny of shortlisting the ‘to-be champions’ was done by Robert Fernley, Deputy Team Principal – Sahara Force India Formula One Team, Eddie Jordan, F1 Expert and Commentator – BBC, Anthony Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg, Test and reserve driver – Sahara Force India Formula One Team. Out of the thousands, ten participants including the winner were given a chance to go to Silverstone, UK comprising sessions of driver tuitions on Dmax Karts, a day at the Porsche Human Performance Centre to assess and develop fitness for motorsports and media training with Goodman media and finally were evaluated on the basis of a holistic assessment of their multiple capabilities and proficiency in requisite areas.
The ten winners were chosen from the National finals held in Goa. On the occasion Eric Carmichael, Asia Pacific Marketing Manager, ExxonMobil Lubricants said, “We are delighted at the outstanding response that the ‘One from a Billion Hunt’ has received from karting enthusiasts across the country. For the day would not be far when we see an Indian driver on the podium in a Formula One circuit.”
