New Rolls Royce dealership to open in Chandigarh

Customers looking to buy a Rolls-Royce in North India will soon be able to head to Select Cars Private Limited, its new dealership in Chandigarh. The new showroom, the company’s fourth in India after Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad, is slated to open in the second quarter of 2012.

Paul Harris, Regional Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Asia Pacific, said, “We have made no secret of our ambitions in India, a market with a century old association with Rolls-Royce motor cars. Strategically, we have identified Chandigarh as the perfect place to enter the next phase of expansion in India. We have already seen a healthy amount of interest from Chandigarh-based customers and I am confident in the potential of this highly important territory.”

Sustainable growth seen across a diverse mix of sectors, advanced infrastructure and position as capital for both the states of Punjab and Haryana are some of the factors Rolls-Royce for opening its new showroom in Chandigarh. Yadur Kapur, CEO, Select Cars Private Limited, said, “Expansion into this important new territory represents the next rational step for our Rolls-Royce business. The investment we are putting into this venture is a testament to the confidence we have in the brand and its potential in the greater Chandigarh area.”

The announcement of the new dealership coincided with the Chandigarh debut of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase. Launched in India in 2011, the car is designed as a more informal Rolls-Royce. It offers 170 mm more rear space for customers who want slightly more space at the rear. Other than that, it has a panoramic sunroof, lamb wool carpets and multimedia theatre configuration, with the last two features standard.
