Porsche Classic is launching its own engine oil called the Porsche Classic Motor Oil, for air-cooled flat-four and flat-six engines. This new engine oil has been developed by the Porsche Classic experts with the specific aim of meeting the demands of the Porsche 356 and Porsche 911 models, including the Porsche 993 model range.
According to the German carmaker, Porsche Classic Motor Oil is a high-viscosity hydrocracked mineral oil formulated for compatibility with the old alloy engines, with additives such as zinc and phosphorous to protect against wear and corrosion. The oil has been laboratory tested to ensure that it will stand up to high temperatures as well as help to preserve engines in collector cars that are only occasionally driven.
Porsche Classic Motor Oil is available in 20W-50 and 10W-60 grades and suits all Porsche's old air-cooled models—from early Porsche 356s through the Porsche 914 mid-engined four-cylinder models, to 2.7- and 3.0-litre plus Porsche 911s. That means all Porsche 911s are covered, including the Porsche 993 model range which preceded Porsche's move to water-cooled 911s in 1998.
The German carmaker has developed the oil itself at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach. We hope Porsche launches its oil in India as well.
