Mercedes-Benz and Carzonrent launch self-drive concept

Mercedes-Benz has tied-up with Carzonrent, a car rental service provider, to offer cars on rent. This unique concept will offer car enthusiasts an opportunity to self-drive the luxury cars offered by Mercedes-Benz as opposed to the chauffer driven cars that are available on rent.

The Delhi-based 15-year-old Carzonrent, which owns 7,500 fleet of cars, across 39 cities, will initially offer Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Mercedes-Benz E-Class models in major metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. The company will also introduce other high-end Mercedes-Benz models such as Mercedes-Benz SLK and Mercedes-Benz AMG versions soon into its luxury self-drive service.

Speaking on this occasion, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Mercedes-Benz is known for its modern luxury experience and we are delighted with our association with Myles. This unique hassle free mobility solution will extend our luxury experience beyond our existing customers. We have always introduced newer products and services for the satisfaction of our customers. We believe both companies will benefit from this alliance in terms of consumer outreach.”

Interested luxury car enthusiasts can rent out a Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Mercedes-Benz E-Class on a daily or hourly basis. The daily rental for a Mercedes-Benz C-Class is Rs 6,500 and that for an E-Class is Rs 9,500 respectively. Alternatively, these cars can also be hired for Rs 900 and Rs 1,200 on an hourly basis for a maximum of 25km which includes the fuel cost.

Carzonrent targets to have a fleet of over 1,000 cars in the next one year, and aspires to grow to around 5,000 cars by 2017. The Myles service can be accessed online, on the mobile or by calling the reservation centre.
