German sports car maker Porsche said that the company is recalling all its 11,324 newly launched four-door Panamera cars due to possible seatbelt problems. A spokesman said the "precautionary" recall was because seatbelt mounts on the Panamera, launched in September 2009, could fail when the front seats are adjusted in an extreme forward position. "There have not been any accidents," the spokesman said.
Ashish Chordia, CEO-Precision Cars India Pvt Ltd - official Porsche importer for India said, "The recall on the Panamera is a global one and even though we have not had any complaints from our customers in India, as the official Porsche importer for India, we will carry out the same on all cars we have delivered."
The Panamera, which in Germany sells for between 75,899 euros ($101,370) and 135,154 euros for the Turbo, was launched as Porsche's newest model range alongside the Boxster, the Cayman, 911 and the Cayenne.
