Porsche recalls 911, Cayman and Boxter models

After internal quality check, Porsche has issued a voluntary recall for some vehicles of the Porsche 911 Carrera, Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman sports car model. As a precautionary measure the German carmaker will be replacing the lock bracket on the front lid of the 4,428 two-door sports cars worldwide.

The company has found that some of the brackets may not meet the company standards and specifications in the long term. Porsche, however, claims that no incidents have been reported as yet caused by this or an unintentional opening of the front lid.

Porsche dealers will be contacting the owners of identified vehicles directly and customers would have to visit a workshop to get the bracket replaced free of cost.
