McLaren teases new track-focused GT model

McLaren GT will whisk the sheet off a new car it’s calling the latest generation competitive track-focused racer. The company has issued a single teaser image which gives some clue as to the new model’s identity. The new track-focused racer model is expected to be the GT3 variant of the McLaren 650S Coupe.

The teaser image released by the British automotive manufacturer shows the silhouette of a race car equipped with typical McLaren boomerang-shaped headlights, a large rear wing, and tyres that come from Pirelli. Attendees will have more to look forward to than a car sitting still on display, because F1 driver Jenson Button will pilot the car up the famous Goodwood Hill.

With no need to comply with road legislation, McLaren is promoting its forthcoming new car as one boasting even greater levels of performance, grip, aerodynamics and downforce than the road car.

Attendees at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed will also get a glimpse of McLaren’s entire collection of cars as well as a few of its racer cars including the McLaren M7C F1. In addition to this, the British carmaker will also unveil its McLaren 650S which has been worked over by the engineers at the McLaren Special Operations personalisation department. The 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed will run from June 26-29, 2014 in UK.
