One-Off 2015 Ford Mustang 50 Years Limited Edition Convertible being raffled

Ford announced at the 2014 New York Auto Show that it will build 1,964 models of its 2015 Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition coupe. But we have just learned that Ford will also build one—convertible version of the car.

Continuing its longstanding support to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ford has created a unique 2015 Mustang to be raffled off by the group on August 16 this year during the Woodward Dream Cruise, a car event held annually at Detroit. All proceeds will go towards the society's research project.

This lone Mustang 50 Years convertible car will be one of the first GT drop-tops to roll off the production line, and will feature a number of the cosmetic and performance upgrades culled from the Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition fastback that debuted at the 2014 New York Auto Show.

There won’t be much differentiating the 2015 Mustang from the coupe besides the fact that it’s a convertible. The new car will get the same Wimbledon white exterior, chrome accents, two-tone leather seating, and unique badging as the limited edition Mustang.

The special 50 Years convertible car will be equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 engine generating more than 425PS of power and a massive 530Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. This will be the only 2015 Mustang convertible built with a special performance pack that includes 19-inch Pirelli P-Zero summer tyres, Brembo brakes and a limited-slip differential.

A shot at winning a one-of-kind 2015 Ford Mustang will cost one Rs 1,200 ($20) with tickets available through the National MS Society.
