Mercedes-Benz has revealed a pair of interior pictures of its upcoming AMG flagship, the Mercedes-AMG GT. The GT is the successor to the SLS AMG that has recently been pulled off the assembly line to make way for this new car.

Mercedes has revealed that the GT will be launched in the fall of 2014, which means either at the Paris Motor Show or the Los Angeles Auto Show. Since the S63 AMG coupe gets a North American unveil though, we believe the Mercedes-AMG GT will be saved up for Europe.

Going by the pictures, it confirms to an extent of the AMG V8 sitting under the hood with four buttons stacked on each side of the centre console and gear selector forming a ‘V’ shape. The materials look top notch and the layout is quite modern. We particularly like the four central circular air-vents. It indicates the width of AMG GT. There seems to be a lot more space on the inside than the SLS AMG.

You will also notice that the Benz tag has been dropped from the GT’s name. This essentially is to distance itself from standard Mercedes-Benz models. With that, we expect an added level of exclusivity and dynamics, pushing the envelope much further than Mercedes-AMG did with their first car, the SLS AMG. "The new Mercedes-AMG GT proves that we will be positioning AMG as a dynamic sports car brand even more strongly and aggressively than before," notes Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
