New Suzuki Gixxer & Gixxer SF disc brake variant launched

Suzuki has launched the new Gixxer variant with rear disc brake and new colour schemes at Rs 79,726. While the Gixxer SF has been priced at Rs 87,343 both prices are ex-showroom Delhi

At the 2016 Auto Expo, Suzuki showcased three new bikes, the new Access, the Gixxer with rear disc brake and the Gixxer SF-Fi. Shortly after the launch of the new Suzuki Access, the Japanese motorcycle maker today announced the launch of the Gixxer with rear disc brake. The new Gixxer variant now sports a rear 240mm disc brake with single floating caliper to enhance the braking efficiency of an already capable motorcycle. Aesthetically, the bike looks identical to the current motorcycle but will feature new colour schemes and clear turn indicators similar to the ones on the Gixxer SF. The Suzuki Gixxer SF also has got rear disc brake option and the bike has been priced at Rs 87,343 for the standard colour while the MotoGP edition carries a sticker price of Rs 88,857 both prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

The bike will still be powered by the same 155cc, air-cooled single-cylinder carburetted engine making 14.8PS of max power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is equipped with Suzuki’s Suzuki Eco Performance technology or SEP and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. According to Suzuki their SEP technology reduces mechanical losses and maximises combustion, leading to better fuel economy. The Gixxer claims a fuel economy figure of 63.2kmpl.
