New Honda Jazz Variants and Features Explained

The Honda Jazz is one of the most awaited cars in India for a long time. Available in both petrol and diesel versions, the Jazz is a sure shot winner for the Japanese automotive manufacturer. The Honda Jazz is also available with both a manual and an automatic gearbox option, which also gets equipped with a paddle shifter. The Honda Jazz is well designed, spacious and comes well loaded with all the essential infotainment options and creature comforts that one expects from a premium hatchback. Here is a detailed overview of all the variants on offer for the new Honda Jazz.

The 2015 Honda Jazz in India is available with a petrol or diesel engine and a manual gearbox in five different variants. These are namely E, S, SV, V and VX. The 2015 Honda Jazz Automatic or CVT gearbox is only available in the S and V variants.

The Honda Jazz E is the cheapest and entry level version of the new car in India. The Honda Jazz E gets power steering with tilt function, LED rear tail lamps and ABS/EBD (only in diesel variant). On the interior front, the Honda Jazz E comes with a Day/Night rear view mirror, beige fabric interiors and 9 cup or bottle holders. The Honda Jazz E also comes with a one touch lane change indicator.

In addition to the Honda Jazz E, the S variant comes with a host of additional features. For starters, the S variant gets an 8.9 screen integrated infotainment system, audio controls on the steering wheel and Bluetooth telephony. On the interior front, the Honda Jazz S also gets a height adjustable drivers seat, rear defogger and an electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror. The Honda Jazz S also gets 15 inch wheel trims or wheel caps.

The Honda Jazz SV is the mid-range variant in the premium hatchback’s range. On the safety front, the SV variant gets twin airbags and ABS and EBD on both petrol and diesel variants. The SV also gets a multi information meter, a better 12.7 cm infotainment screen and a rear parking camera. The SV also gets a one touch driver’s side window with pinch guard and additional Bluetooth controls on the steering wheel. The Honda Jazz V variant is well loaded and comes with a whole bunch of extra features that makes it an exciting proposition. The Honda Jazz V in addition to everything that is available in the SV variant also gets a set of alloy wheels which makes the Jazz look much more premium. The Jazz V variant also gets a set of electrically folding ORVMs, rear wiper and washer along with a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knobs. The Honda Jazz V also comes with paddle shifters for the automatic version along with the touchscreen climate control that we have become familiar with in the Honda City.

The Honda Jazz VX is the top of the line variant that comes fully loaded with all the possible options. The Honda Jazz VX variant also comes with a 15.7cm or 6.2-inch color infotainment touchscreen setup with a audio/video and navigation support. The new 2015 Honda Jazz VX also comes with what Honda calls ‘Magic Seats’ which offers rear reclining seats, rear adjustable seat headrest and 60:40 folding rear seats and cushion that offer a range of options when it comes to loading larger pieces of luggage. The Honda Jazz VX also comes with sporty black interiors and dashboard along with an equally sporty boot spoiler.

In terms of specifications, the petrol powered Honda Jazz comes with a 1.2-litre iVTEC engine that makes 90PS of peak power and 110Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox. The diesel powered car is mated to a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that makes a healthy 100Ps of peak power and 200Nm of peak torque. The diesel is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
