The test mule of the 2016 Ducati Diavel reveals the bike has lost some weight, and the riding position is also different - more cruiser-like, with forward set foot pegs and low seat

The Ducati Diavel may be soon getting a cruiser makeover, latest spy shots have revealed.

Overall, the new Diavel cruiser looks more or less same as the current Diavel, but seems to have lost a little weight, the biggest difference being the front, which doesn’t look as beefy and heavy as the current Diavel.

The new Diavel gets a reshaped fuel tank and trimmed down exhausts. The riding posture will also change on the new Diavel, with a lower seat height, handlebars closer to the rider and the footpegs moved ahead for a traditional cruiser riding position.

The trellis frame and single sided swingarm remain the same, but the new model appears to be belt driven instead of a chain drive on the current Diavel. The engine on the new Diavel is expected to be borrowed from the Multistrada 1200’s Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT) unit, which makes over 160PS of power and 136Nm of torque.

The new Diavel is expected to be unveiled at the EICMA show in November as a 2016 model.
