New 2016 Bentley Bentayga officially revealed

Bentley had been trying building hype around its forthcoming new SUV – the new 2016 Bentayga for quite some time. The luxury carmaker had released a minute-long video last year which showed the SUV’s off-road prowess in the desert, along with shots of its hand-crafted interior. Bentley has now pulled the wraps off this forthcoming new SUV and revealed it in complete guise.

The all-new Bentley Bentayga is the redesigned successor to the EXP 9 F concept that received lukewarm response back at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The 2016 Bentayga receives a prominent grille flanked by four round LED headlamps, chrome lined side skirting, a skid plate, dual exhaust system and a roof integrated spoiler. 

The interior exudes a premium feel with real, handcrafted wood and metal trimmings and use of fine quality leather. This upcoming new SUV also receives panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 60GB hard drive, a removable 10.2-inch Android-based Bentley tablet with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth for the rear passengers, three available audio systems, including a 1,950 Watt unit from Naim with 18 speakers, and a flurry of other standard and optional features.

Those wishing to add a touch of personalisation to the SUV can opt for the Bentley's Mulliner Bespoke program that offers among other things, some 90 additional exterior hues, 15 carpet options, seven handcrafted veneers, 15 choices of interior trim hide and several alloy wheel options ranging in size from 20 to 22 inches.

The 2016 Bentley Bentayga will be equipped with a 6.0-litre W12 petrol engine that churns out 600PS of power at 6,000rpm and 900Nm of torque from 1,250rpm to 4,500rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This new SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in a claimed 4.1 seconds with a top-speed of 301kmph.

The SUV also comes equipped with Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode as standard, with an optional Responsive Off-Road Setting, offering up to eight driving modes, plus a computer-controlled, adjustable air springs with four ride heights, and many electric aids such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, Predictive ACC, Traffic Assist and Park Assist. 

The 2016 Bentley Bentayga will make its public debut at the forthcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
