Adding a 19th to the MotoGP calendar, the event will be hosted at a new circuit of Americas, in Austin, Texas from 2013

A deal has been signed for ten-year duration with Dorna Sports (official Commercial and TV rights holder) which will include all the three- classes – MotoGP, Moto2 and the Moto3 classes. This new circuit will bring the MotoGP racers to America three times with the United States Grand Prix (Laguna Seca) and the Indianapolis Grand Prix already on the calendar. Bringing more motorsport action to America, the deal also includes a schedule to host the US Formula One Grand Prix at the new under-construction Circuit of the Americas.

The Laguna Seca Circuit

MotoGP promoter Carmelo Ezpeleta said “We are delighted to be adding the Circuit of the Americas to the MotoGP calendar. It's an honor to expand our championship to Texas, which has a rich history of producing riders. The ten-year agreement is a sign of our confidence and commitment to the future success of MotoGP racing in Austin,” he added.

Construction of the new track is already on the way and is likely to be completed by mid-2012, just in time for the Formula One United States grand Prix. The Laguna Seca’s contract to host the Grand Prix is valid till 2014 while the Indianapolis’ agreement is valid for this last season at the venue.

With the Buddh International Circuit in India ready to be homologated for FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) and another circuit in Texas on the way, 2013 will host a season of 20 races.
