Vento Cup Drivers Fitness Camp

Following the Fitness Camp, drivers flew to Coimbatore to get a first taste of what the race cars feel like. The driver training camp kicked off with new racers driving the road-spec Polo (with a roll cage) behind Rayomand Banajee (Driver Coach Volkswagen Vento Cup) and Karthik Tharani (Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2014 Champion and Volkswagen Motorsport development driver). The new racers then graduated to the race-spec Polos while the more experienced drivers were given the Vento Race car at the end of Day 1. All drivers were then given three simulations on the new Vento race car. Drivers were also given theory sessions on braking markers, flags and safety.  18 drivers will participate in the Volkswagen Motorsport India Vento Cup 2016.

Aside from the Vento Cup 2016, the Kari Motor Speedway will also host the third round of the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship2016. The championship resumes in Coimbatore after a three-month summer break and this round will witness 10 races spread over two days.
