Following the first release of pictures of the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLC Coupe, they have now taken the wraps off it

Mercedes-Benz Concept GLC Coupe

A few weeks prior to the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz released the first images of their Concept GLC Coupe. The Stuttgart-based car maker has now officially unveiled the concept at Shanghai. World over, manufacturers have identified tremendous potential in the crossover segment of cars and are bringing in their own iterations which are essentially refreshed and twisted version of their two box designs. BMW already has the X4 on offer; Mercedes is now getting one ready too.

While Mercedes says that the GLC Coupe is still in its concept form, it is clear that it will follow the brand’s new design language. The front with the long sloping bonnet leading into the two-slat grille looks good. The LED headlights further add to the overall charm. And then there are those large air-intakes on the bumper to give it that much need rugged appeal. At the back the design elements are minimal but classy. The sharp boot line, the sleek LED taillights and those diagonally stacked twin-exhaust make it looks ahead of its time.

Under the hood, the Concept GLC Coupe that was showcased at Shanghai came with a 3.0-litre V6 unit that punches out 367 horses and 535Nm of torque. But our guesses are this might be the AMG version. The mass-produced version will be introduced with a smaller unit.

As mentioned earlier, the GLC Coupe will go against the likes of the BMW X4. And it will bring quite a hard fight to its Munich-based rival considering that the Mercedes is longer and wider than its rival. And then it has a pretty impressive design to go with it too.
